Revive Upholstery & Design was founded by Leland Duck and is tucked just above the one and only Beam & Anchor. Leland has a love for objects with stories—he loves for vintage cars and vintage furniture—this eventually led to a desire to give new life to these through upholstery. Together, Leland and Kelly work to create one-of-a-kind pieces through restoration, repair, and custom upholstering.
Revive’s love for unique objects and materials to use in their upholstery projects brought us to their studio. Both Revive and Kiriko have an affinity for heirlooms, the stories they hold, and the sentimental value they hold with the owner. How do they become special to us and why? Can we make something that can become these precious pieces? Leland shared a knife he had received as an Eagle Scout, an object that calls back to his nostalgic childhood. Kelly shared a measuring tape necklace she had received from her mother—it seems only natural that she became part of Revive Designs. We shared our collection of bandanas, many of them made of Katazome printed fabrics, a technique dates back to a time long before silkscreening.
We deeply appreciate a traditional commitment to craft that we see in our fabrics, as we see in the work of Leland and Kelly at Revive. We are looking forward to seeing more of what is coming out of the Revive Designs studio.
