These vintage bear heads were crafted by the Ainu people and are carefully selected from Japan.
Ainu, the indigenous people of Japan, historically resided in parts of Hokkaido (the Northern island of Japan) the Kuril Islands, and Sakhalin. The hunter-gatherers worship nature and animals, speak a language unrelated to any other, and have many customs that have spanned centuries. It was only 2008 that the Japanese government officially recognized the existence of the Ainu as an indigenous people, although their distinct language, culture, and religious practices have survived for millennia.
