Arita-Yaki Tea Cup, Indigo Japanese Pattern
Arita-yaki is discovered in and around the town of Arita, in Saga prefecture, Japan. It was the first pottery technique imported from Korea and was the center of porcelain production during the Edo period.
Arita-yaki is smooth, thin and light, yet strong. It features colored patterns and illustrations, usually navy and white. Thanks to its high durability and its non-porous properties, it makes it the ideal tableware piece.
