Introducing our own take on the classic chambray work shirt, a wardrobe staple, is made unique with vintage cat’s eye buttons, a rounded chest pocket, and Japanese Katazome print inspired fabric accents on the neck, cuffs, and yoke. Made from start to finish here in Portland, Oregon, these Katazome Chambray shirts can be worn alone or layered with other pieces.
This shirt has the pattern Kiku (菊) as accents. The Kiku pattern, or chrysanthemum, became the emblem for the Imperial Family during the Nara period, when the flower was first introduced to Japan. It continues to be a highly-regarded pattern today, appearing on official seals and documents.
