Hagi-Yaki Tea Cups, Peach and Beige Natural Fade, Set of 5
Hagi-Yaki originated in Hagi, Yamaguchi, which used to be called Nagato Province. The origin can be traced back to when Korean potters first arrived in Hagi. Korean craftsmen played a large role in creating new styles of pottery such as Hagi, Satsuma, and Arita. Hagi-yaki are known for their subtle form and subdued, earthy tones. They are also appreciated for their glaze, which draws out the natural colors of the clay.
