Kiriko X 203 Butik Small Notebook, Nami
We are excited to introduce our new collaboration with 203 Butik Stationery! 203 Butik is based in Norwalk, Connecticut and is run by Shamese Shular who specializes in Japanese stab binding and stationery. For this collaboration, we provided Shamese with some of our favorite Japanese patterned fabrics. In return, she created these beautiful hand-made notebooks utilizing the art of Japanese stab binding. 203 Butik uses quality papers in their products, making these notebooks perfect to draw, paint or write in!

This notebook features a Nami pattern. Nami, or "wave," was used as a symbol of the gods of the seas. This pattern was also seen on banners and armor from the Sengoku Era (the age of provincial wars), in which troops in war resembled a moving wave. The pattern represents strength, with marvelous depictions of churning, flowing waves.
