Tsuno Tote, Yamabato-Iro and Pendelton Wool
This modern-style Tsuno bag is simple and perfect for everyday use, whether it's carrying your essentials, or grocery shopping. Each has a comfortable leather handle and leather strap to close, and an inner pocket to keep important things out of the way.
In this iteration, weʻve combined a custom dyed sashi-ori weave fabric with an old Wool Pendelton blanket and finally lined the tote with a heavy canavs. Sashi-ori is a heavyweight fabric traditionally used in Kendo-gi jackets that is durable to hold up to the test of time.
Tsuno Bukuro means "horn bag". The name comes from the shape, which looks like two horns. Traditionally, these bags are simply constructed from a single rectangle length of fabric, creating them without extra cuts or folds. Tsunobukuro were usually used by farmers to transport grain.
Each Tsuno bag is sewn in Portland and finished here in our studio.
