  • The Five Main Japanese Teas

    May 13, 2025

Tea has been culturally important in Japan since the 12th century, making its way through zen temples and samurai circles before its current iteration as a global emblem.

Matcha, Hojicha, Genmaicha, Gyokuro, and Sencha are the five main Japanese teas that we carry in our stores. Sometimes, a tea can be a blend of either multiple of these or other teas.
