Decorating rooms with animal ornaments or kitchenwares is a tradition in Western countries, and the Kashiwa Craft company predecessors were strongly influenced by that tradition. Seto, influenced by Nordic design, became a hub for casting workshops. Kashiwa Craft, founded by Hisayuki Iwatsuki in 1965, initially created animal motif figurines. In 2006, under Hisato Iwatsuki, the company continued its special blend of red clay and glaze, the casting method, and reduction firing. The brand identity centers on its unique casting method, clay variety, and glazes, creating a natural warmth and distinct texture. While preserving tradition, its leadership revives old designs and innovates new ones, embracing pottery's aging beauty.
