Kiriko Custom Panama Hat, Straw, Braided Indigo Katazome, Shades of Orange Plaid

Here at Kiriko, we believe in the principle of Mottainai, which means that the old can be made new and everything can be used again. Here, we are using small pieces of vintage textiles, too small to be made into clothing, which otherwise might have been thrown away.

Using US-made straw Yellow108 Panama hats by Brixton, we decorated them with a band made from vintage Japanese fabrics. The bright fabrics and patterns were originally intended to use for Kimono and Yukata, but are now paired together to make unique hatbands. A stylish, breezy hat for the summer.
