Maekake are thick, durable indigo-dyed canvas waist aprons used for centuries by artisans and merchants, often featuring vintage logos. Sakiori is an eco-friendly "rag weaving" technique where old fabric strips are woven into new, durable cloth, sometimes used to make or repair these sturdy aprons.
