This mustard powder is made from stone ground organic Barukan (Vulcan) mustard seeds. It is very spicy, with a distinct mustard flavor. Spicy karashi mustard is great for pork belly, Japanese potato salad, and karashi cucumbers.
To use, mix 4 parts mustard powder with 5 parts lukewarm water (between 104℉ and 140℉). Allow the paste to rest for 5-15 minutes to remove any bitterness. Use as soon as possible after mixing.
