Happi jackets or "happy coats" were originally worn by house-servants of wealthy families. Family crests or "mon" were painted on the back of these jackets to indicate the families the servants belonged to. Their purpose has since evolved into pieces of celebration and since the 1900s have been the traditional costume of festivals.
Introducing new modern Happi jackets made by Happi.Tokyo! Happi.Tokyo is a company that seeks ways to influence the world by taking the concept of traditional happi jackets to the next level.
