The hand-knitted trivet is made with domestic Windmill Palm fiber rope. Since it has a hole in the center and a wooden core, even pots with round bottoms can rest stably within.

For some seventy years, Takada's artisans have been handcrafting tawashi one at a time, using only the finest, carefully-selected materials harvested from trees cultivated in Wakayama Prefecture, in southwestern Japan.
